Abstract: Winter construction is first adopted in China in Songhua River Highway Bridge in Harbin, the first large prestressed concrete continuous bridge in northern area of China. Taking the example of the fifth pier in the bridge, construction method of cast-in-situ pile foUndation on ice in winter is introduced and technical economic benefit is analysed in this paper.
