Abstract: At first, this paper put forth the problems caused by sea ice in harbor engineering. And then, it retrospect the common knowledge about the ice formation and its development, and introduces the conventional method for sea ice investigation. At last, taking Hanghuagang and Yingkougang Projects as examples, It sets forth the ice regime factors and common principles shall be considered in planning and design.
