Thermo-Hydraulic Modeling of Cooling Water Circulation with Icing Simulation

Abstract: This paper presents a method of approach for the hydraulic modeling of cooling water Circulation of thermal/nuclear power plants under severe cold conditions. On the basis of the similarity criteria of conventional thermo-hydraulic modeling, due consideration is taken for simulating the possible icing phenomena. Starting from the heat balance equation., similarity requirements are deduced and relaxation ofthe criteria for practical application are revealed.
