Abstract: Seven uniform ice regions in the Barents Sea are delineated. As ice indications, the probabilities of ice parameters (ice edge, concentration, ice age category, etc. ) of ice conditions in regular grid points were used. The physical-geographic characteristics of the delineated regions are given. The seasonal changes in the area of ice of varying concentration in each of the regions are analyzed. It is concluded that in the uniform regions the reliability of statistical estimates of the ice cover characteristics is provided best of all which is extremely important for addressing the applied objectives.
