Abstract: The complexity of ice characteristic in the river that flows northward is discussed in the article, based on the physical contributing factors and lots of observational data, among the factors affecting ice condition of the reach, such as the factors of thermodynamic, hydraulic and physical features of the river etc. We use the factor affected by the activity of drop in temperature to set up thermodynamic index parameter, then a multiple regression analysis mathematics model has been set up for ice condition forecasting. In the past the static index is used, now we want to find out a dynamic index parameter to reflect the property of dynamic approach and the complexity of unsteady freezing reaches of river and transitory reaches influenced by step hydroelectric station.
