Abstract: In this article, a method is introduced to predict the feasibility of ice prevention making use of the waste warm discharge from thermal power or nuclear power plants. By means of flow diagram, the method is illustrated step by step. The crucial sections, such as the physical model experiment and the evaluation of ice melt capability, are emphatically explicated. Furthermore, take the example of ice prevention project of Dandong thermal power plant to serve as a demonstration.
