Abstract: Accumulation of ice on slopes of pumped storage plant basins leads Io changes in their volume and increases in loads acting acting on basin dike protections. The design and type of slope protection, composition of bedrock and seepage conditions in the dike interior produce a marked effect on the above process. Ice accumulation on a slope has been studied in the field (the Kiev-skaya pumped storage power plant) and in the laboratory (on models). The methods for modelling and computations have been worked out.
