Abstract: Ice interaction force with engineering structures is closely connected with the ice friction coefficient on concrete surfaces. The problem of ice friction coefficient value on concrete surfaces is not sufficiently studied. Thus, the’'Hydraulics" chair of Novosibirsk Institute of Railway Engineers hold detailed investigations for the defining of concrete surface coefficient of ice friction. The tests have proved the dynamic coefficient of ice friction on smooth concrete surface doesn’t depend much on given temperature range. It was obtained that values of dynamic coefficient for relatively smooth concrete surfaces (similar to bridge piers) are equal to 0,15-0,18; the values of static coefficient being 0,50-0,45.
