Abstract: Platforms built in Bohai Sea are required to resist ice load and earthquake. But the rigidity of the structure required by ice load is great as well as small by earthquake. Thus, a new kind of structure has been studied. It can meet the requirement of ice load and earthquake, i. e. its rigidity will be great when acted upon by ice load and to perform with small rigidity in earthquake. The details are discussed in this paper.
