A Discussion on the Type of Daming Structure of the Headwork

Abstract: This paper introduced the problems presenting in the types of daming structure of the headwork constructed on the rivers of Song-non Plain in the northeast region of China. After a systematic investigation of the daming structures existed in the Plain, a general rule about the scouring effect due to the flood water, the damage caused by the ice drift, and the evaluation of the traditional types of the darning structures had been drawn. On the bases of further studies of many different new types of daming structures, the rubber dam was appraised and at the same time the problem about the ice cakes flowing over the daming structure was also dealt with.
