Abstract: The nonlinear resonant interactions of deep-water waves under an elastic ice sheet, of uniform thickness and under tension or compression, are calculated. Special attention is paid to the interaction of a plane wave with its own first harmonic. The solutions are very similar to those for open-water capillary-gravity waves derived by McGoldrick.
