Anchor Ice in Lachine Rapids Results of Observations and Analysis

Abstract: This communication contains a description of anchor ice observed in the Lachine rapids area on the St. Lawrence river and the major characteristics of a simple mathematical model simulating formation and release of anchor ice. A brief description of moving sheet ice is also presented due to its influence on anchor ice generation.
