Abstract: Papers presented by the author to the ice symposia of IAHR-PIANC and IAHR-AIRH, held respectively in Budapest in 1974 and in Hannover, in 1975, have described a physical-mathematical model of saturated ice motion covering a major part as well as fundamental types of motion and some solutions for a physical/mathematical model. Certain presumes have to be applied regarding the stream resistance occurring during the ice motion. The first part of the present paper contains a more universal drawing up of the function expressing stream resistance. The second part of the paper deals with a relationship on the basis of the acceleration of ice blocks, giving the possibility to determine experimentally some of the characteristic$ of the ice motion such as stream resistance.
