Abstract: The paper deals briefly with ice conditions of the Hungarian reach of the Tisza River above the barrage of Tiszalok and with the aspects of winter operation of the barrage. The overdeveloped curve above the barrage must be regulated in such a way that besides navigation an artificial stop of ice masses is also possible in order to protect the barrage.
