Abstract: An organized activity (ice breaking and explosion) for the prevention of ice damage is continuously pursued by the Hungarian Water Service on the Hungarian rivers in winter. In order to perform these tasks, a fleet of modern icebreakers have been developed and special explosive charges for ice perforation and blasting are at our disposal.
