The Interaction Between Structures and Pressure Ridges

Abstract: Offshore structures of a fixed nature may initiate the formation of pressure ridges in sea ice. These pressure ridges in turn may create additional pileups of sea ice, thus isolating the structure to ships from the ice sheet field by a possibly impenetrable barrier.
