Abstract: In the years 2010-2021 Polish Gas and Oil Company (PGNiG) constructed gas stores in salt deposits located in the north-eastern part of Poland. The discharge system was located 2300 meters from the western part of the Gulf of Gdansk (South Baltic Sea). To discharge brine (saturation: 250 kg m-3; flow rate: 300 m3 h-1) a system of 48 nozzles distributed in an area of 180x180 meters was proposed. Continuous monitoring of brine spreading confirmed compliance with the water permit, i. e. permissible excess salinity was below 0.5 PSU.
