Abstract: This study emphasizes the importance of inundation maps in dam safety, highlighting how methodologies and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) significantly impact flood prone area definition. The study targeted Brazil's Copiti dam, employing a simplified methodology and HEC-RAS models for dam-break simulations and utilizing SRTM and high-precision PE3D LIDAR data from Pernambuco state.
