Abstract: In view of the needs of both model developers and users,the American Society of CivilEngineers,Hydraulics Division,established a U.S.National Committee on 3D Free-Surface Hydrodynamic Model Verification in 1988.In 1992,completed the Phase I ofthe Task,data and analytic solutions collection for model verification.The Phase II ofthe Task,model verifications,is in progress at the present time,with the participation ofseveral researchers from other countries including:Germany,Japan,U.K.and TheNetherlands,the ASCE National Task Committee has become a defacto InternationalTask Committee.
