Abstract: Keywords in Water Resources Development (WRD)in Indonesia are "Sustainable"and"Environmentally Sound".This calls for an integrated,multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinaryapproach.The Directorate General of Water Resources Development of the Ministry ofPublic Works(MPW)is responsible for WRD.To create and retain a core of well qualifiedWRD-engineers,it has recently established it's own professional post-graduate studyprogramme in cooperation with a university.Characteristics of the study programme arethat it is in-country and that the lecturers mainly come from the Ministry itself.
