Abstract: The paper presents results related to the modelling of turbulent low speed flows with large density variations. In the experiments, these large density variations are obtained from the mixing of helium and carbon dioxyde flows. Both a Reynoids stress transport equations model and a k-epsilon model are applied to a mixing layer experiment, while the k-epsilon model is applied to a three-dimensional experiment.
