Abstract: A hydrodynamic two-dimensional model is described which uses a curvilinear coordinate system to define the computational domain. The model uses finite differences to solve the equations of flow which are transformed to the curvilinear coordinate system. The numerical properties of the model are discussed in its application to a hypothetical river reach.
