Abstract: The achievement of modern computer technology allows the study of very complexflow models numerically. At the same time advancing modelling techniques stilltend to Increase requirements on computer performance.Numerical models willbeusefull only if they compete with the computer facilities they meet in practice.Anupper limit on solving nonlinear equation systems may be at 103...104 degreesof freedom currently.Strong nonlinear or time dependent problems even restrictthe model resolution, especially at the stage of model calibration. The presentpaper deals with some aspects of the numerical treatment of three-dimenslonalflow.
