Abstract: The numerical aspects of a three-dimensional finite difference model based on the Reynolds averaged Navier-stokes equations and the conservation of mass are presented. The finite difference equations are solved through a non-ite-rative ADI-technique using the artificial compressibility method. A phase and amplification analysis performed in the absence of viscosity and non-linear terms show that the finite difference scheme is unconditional stable under these simplifications.
