Abstract: In recent years there has been a great deal of concern aboutthermal pollution due to warm water discharge from power plants. To enhance mixing,multi-port diffusers are frequently used todischarge cooling water from such_plants and to dispose of othermunicipal and industrial wastes. In a deep water environment, theflow from a long multi-port diffuser is essentially two-dimensional and therefore similar to a plane flow.
