Abstract: Peak-load operation of water-power plants that generates tidal-like periodical flow conditions in the river system greatly odify the pollution distributon creating concentration peaks articularly for evenly distributed waste water release in time. onventional 1-D and 2-D flow models and simple transport models ave been used to analyse the main tendencies of this phenomenon n a river system with a future water-power plant. Some of the esults obtained for an affluent and a confluence are presented.
