Abstract: Transmission and refection of solitary waves from porous structures have been the sub-ject of investigation in two recent,independent studies(Vidal et al,1988;Yalciner andShuto,1988;and Yalciner,1989).These studies have attempted to model the solitarywave transmission through pores of the structure.In such models,boundary conditionsare required on flow characteristics just before and after the structure.This requirementnecessitates to make assumptions on the shape of the reflected wave and its interaction withthe incoming wave on the structure face.
