Abstract: The Swept Sine Wave concept has been used at the hydraulics laboratory of the National Research Council in Ottawa, Canada, to study the dynamic response characteristics of structural models exhibiting significant dynamic response. The technique shows versatility as a general tool in the study of a wide range of hydrodynamic phenomena and has the appeal of being both simple to use and expedient in providing basic results on system behaviour.
