Abstract: In Lake Biwa, density currents occur by the surface cooling in winter and the different heat response of the basins. We examined the critical flow condition observed by the current meters in taking account of the current deflection. A typical feature of transition from the density currents to wind driven currents and interfacial resistance are discussed.
