Abstract: Three formulae predieting sediment transport rates in steep streams arepr esented. Considering their limitations of application, the experiment-al conditions for which they were developed should be kept in mind. Effects of step-pool structures, due to wide sediment gradation, and ofthe presence of f ine material are discussed.
