Abstract: A severe fish-kill, associated with near zero Do levelshad been experienced in River Zagyva, Hungary. It was claimed thatdischarge from a sewage equalization pond had caused this pollu-tion. Assuming the "possible worst conditions" it was demonstra-ted by a simulation model that near-zero Do lvels could not havebeen caused solely by this effluent outfall.
