Abstract: The paper discusses possible ways for improving the accuracy and effi-ciency of finite volume methods for complex flows. The issues of grid generation, choice of coupled or uncoupled procedures, staggered or non-staggered grids and cartesian or grid-aligned velocity components are addressed, and an example of a general method is presented.
