Abstract: Field surveys composed by UAV-SfM, vane shear tests and sediment sampling were conducted in order to obtain insight on morphological effect of suction dynamics on micro topography such as a sand-bar and datum for future numerical simulation on Minamigata, Yamaguchi Bay. Validity and evaluation of the numerical model considering suction dynamic effects was conducted by comparing results of simulation with measured values of the field survey on Minamigata under the condition with/without the effects of suction dynamics. The predicted results with the suction dynamics effects incorporated compare favorably with the measured morphological change, demonstrating their important role in suppressing the sediment transport rate in maintenance of micro topography.
