Abstract: The task of determination of the concentration of bacterial contaminations in ground waters is considered. The scheme of the approximate solution of one-dimensional task is suggested which accounts for the adsorption on the ground, diffusion and death of the microbic contaminations due to interspecies competition. An analytical dependence is given, obtained at the first step of the scheme of suc--cessive approximations, and which can be used as an approximate solution of the task. It was found that such approximate solution differs from more exact one, obtained on the basis of the numerical solution, by more than 15%. Results of the approximate dependence of the concentration of the bacterial contaminations are compared with experimental data. Simplier type of solution of the task for three partial cases is represented.
