Abstract: A method of the coordinate trans formation is presented to handle a flow over an arbitrary shape of bed topography in a curved channel. According to the transformation the water body in a unit bend of a meandering channel with bars is transformed into a parallelepiped. The k-ε model is applied to simulate the flow characteristics and compared with exper imental results. Formation of double cells of secondary flow in a section is successfully reproduced by a mathematical model. However, it is said that some improvements are still required for the expression of the boundary shear especially at the corner composed of the water surface and the side walls.
