Abstract: Available sediment and fall velocity data and relationships have been reanalyzed so as to produce two new procedures for the calculation of sediment particle fall velocities. The procedures, based on the rear- rangement of accepted drag coefficient/shape factor/Reynolds number functions, are both accurate and direct. .. Further, they are applicable to a wide range of both particle size, shape and specific gravity and fluid temperatures and specific gravity.
