Abstract: Structures set on the sea bottom are exposed to the forces of wave motion on the water surface. The larger the depth at which the structure is deposited, the smaller are the effects on it. A number of calculation methods is known for the determination of such forces; their evidence was yet to be clarified by means of model tests. The paper surmarizes the results of laboratory tests carried out on cylindrical tanks.
