Abstract: Coordination and timing of water level measurements at distant locations have been a problem using standard water leve1 gauges. To overcome these difficulties and to facilitate processing and presentation of data a computer-controlled telemetric data acquisition system has been developed. The system consists of one 'base station and twelve slave stations and it can hand1e thirty transducers placed up to 50 kilometers from the base. The paper gives a brief description of the hardware and software of the system. Three application examples are presented.
