Abstract: This review incorporates seven papers covering a wide range of studies related to natura l flows in regional scale deep aquifers. The papers discuss flow measurement technique developments in bore ho les and from springs and also evaluations of a variety of groundwater regimes which are analysed and modelled so that determinations of optimal discharge leve ls and distributions can be made. Finite difference and finite elem ent modelling methods are discussed against both simple and complex hydrogeological env ironments and some new methods of parameter estimation and distribution are presented. Model calibrations are discussed and results presented which will be of value to most hydrologists.
