The Study of Solution to Relieve the Backwater of Aerator Structure of Spillway Tunnel

Abstract: The main problem of high velocity flow in spillway tunnel that always need to pay attention to, is cavitations of flow pass surface that caused by flow cavitations, and aeration is one of the efficient measure to solve the cavitations of flow surface in spillway tunnel. In this paper, take the aeration structure of one hydropower station spillway open flow chute as example to discovery and comparison from different angle. The result showed that aerator and flat section connected by arched bottom could solve the program of counterclockwise vertices’ and vacuum backflow problem at aerator downstream. The study result could supply technology support for engineering design and running in the future, and has very important meaning for reform the design of spillway tunnel and raised the reliability of safety running of spillway tunnel,meanwhile could impulse the development of science and technology in this field in our country.
