Abstract: For the first time in the Korea Water Resources Corporation, the lakeside environment was improved through old embankment and inland maintenance in the dam (Sediment Control Dam), and the local long-cherished project was resolved. In some sections upstream of the dam, stagnant water was formed by existing embankment and roads, resulting in green algae, odor, and garbage problems. To solve this problem, old embankment and roads were demolished to resolve stagnant water and secure flow rates to solve odor and garbage problems. In addition, high-quality embankment soils generated at the time of the embankment demolition were covered in a certain thickness (0.3~0.5m) on past agriculture land to induce the activation of aquatic plants and blocking the elution of nutrients, resulting in a noticeable green algae reduction effect.
