Abstract: This paper presents the building and physical modeling of a stepped structures, studying and characterizing the flow through the structure and developing a design methodology. This study presents two new equations to identify the type of flow in the structure, when the structure geometry and the flow are known. It is proposed a design methodology for stepped structures with skimming flows.
