Abstract: In recent years, several reclamation projects in Manila Bay have been proposed and approved for coastal development and protection. The hydrodynamic and wave impacts of the eventual completion of the largest reclamation project associated with the Manila Bay Integrated Flood Control, Coastal Defense and Expressway (MBIFCCDE) Project are to be investigated for the critical tropical cyclone (Typhoon Rammasun) scenario through the use of coupled Delft3D FLOW-WAVE modules. These impacts, in terms of water level and significant wave height changes, are determined by comparing baseline simulation results, which only considers the existing Manila Bay coastline and bathymetry, to those of the modified simulation results, which factors in the coastline and bathymetric modification brought by the reclamation as well as a 50-year sea level rise (SLR). The findings indicate that sheltered areas formed by the reclamation generally experienced negative change or decrease in water levels and significant wave heights. Northwestern bay areas are generally expected to have minimal positive change or increase in water levels and significant wave heights as compared with the northeastern bay areas having minimal negative change or decrease in water levels.
