Abstract: The assessment of sediment volumes was carried out in the scope of on-going project aiming to define erosional corridors in Slovenia. The assessment of eroded and deposited sediment volumes is presented for Kamniska Bistrica River, a torrential river originating in Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Slovenia. Kamniska Bistrica River flooded during the extreme event in August 2023. Volumes of sediment eroded from the banks and deposited adjacent to watercourse were assessed according to the digital elevation model of differences before and after flooding event. For each area of erosion and deposition, dimensional and description characteristics were gathered for the whole 33 km course of the river. Along the river-course, 61 major erosion areas and 40 major depositional areas were identified, which resulted in an estimation of 37,000 m3 of sediment being eroded from the banks and 31,000 m3 of sediment being deposited.
