Abstract: This study addresses the issue of eutrophication in the Penitas reservoir caused by fish farming waste. A two-dimensional hydrodynamic analysis was conducted by calibrating a numerical model supported by field measurements using acoustic equipment. The results indicate a consistent trend between field data and the model, although the magnitudes require adjustments due to wind conditions and the reservoir's extraction geometry. The study proposes placing fish cages in areas that minimize the risk of eutrophication, contributing to the sustainable management of reservoirs.
