Keywords: Elastic Modulus Inversion Gravity Dams Multipoint Displacement Monitoring

Abstract: Accurate determination of the elastic modulus is critical for the structural safety and operational reliability of gravity dams. Traditional methods often overlook the impact of foundation deformation, leading to inaccuracies in analyzing dam behavior. This study proposes an improved inversion method that isolates the displacement components caused solely by the dam body, eliminating the interference from foundation deformation. By employing multipoint displacement monitoring data and advanced finite element analysis, the method achieves greater precision in determining the elastic modulus. Validation through a real-world RCC gravity dam project demonstrated the robustness of the approach, with results aligning closely with observed data and highlighting the model’s reliability for safety assessments.
