Abstract: As offshore wind power capacity nears 70 GW, submarine cables are vital for power transmission. This study focuses on the stability of submarine cables under ballast protection, suitable for hard seabeds like rock. Experiments in a wave tank at Hohai University examined the dynamic interaction between water flow, cables, and concrete interlocking blocks. Key factors such as water velocity, depth, and block size were analyzed to assess their effect on cable stability. The findings provide insights for optimizing cable protection in marine environments and offer recommendations for offshore and coastal engineering applications.
