Abstract: Effective communication of flood risks is crucial for preparedness, but current flood maps and models remain complex, impeding public understanding and timely response. This study presents a novel AI Assistant powered by the GPT-4 model, aimed at bridging this communication gap. Designed to support both decision-makers and the general public, the AI Assistant leverages GPT-4's natural language understanding and function-calling capabilities to deliver real-time flood alerts, flood map interpretations, and data-driven advisories. It combines flood warnings with social vulnerability data, transforming complex flood zone information into actionable insights for diverse users.
