Wave-Induced Seabed Liquefaction: Numerical Simulation and Analysis

Abstract: This study uses numerical simulations and physical experiments to investigate the pore water pressure response and liquefaction behavior of a sandy silt seabed under wave loading. A FLAC-based numerical model was used to simulate seabed liquefaction, while a wave flume experiment system provided physical measurements of pore water pressure under varying wave conditions. A comparison of experimental and simulation results shows that wave-induced excess pore water pressure is most pronounced in shallow seabed layers, and wave parameters strongly influence liquefaction depth. The alignment between simulation and experimental outcomes offers robust theoretical and experimental support for understanding wave-induced seabed liquefaction.
