Abstract: The complex geomorphological and hydrological characteristics of Korean rivers lead to dynamic flow changes, influenced by environmental factors. With the increasing impact of waterfront facilities on river ecosystems, precise monitoring of algal distribution and growth has become essential. This study focuses on developing three-dimensional analysis techniques for algal monitoring using advanced sensor technologies. The methodology combines vertical and surface monitoring of rivers using an on-boat system equipped with optical sensors and GPS, alongside drones mounted with hyperspectral sensors to collect high-resolution spectral data. By applying optimal band selection techniques, the study achieved precise estimation of algal concentrations, providing a deeper understanding of their spatial distribution relative to flow characteristics. These findings contribute to improved river management and waterfront facility operations while advancing sensor-based three-dimensional monitoring and analysis methodologies.
